A mother pays a surprise visit to her late son's ex-partner, who is now married to another man and has a young son. Challenged to face how society has changed around her, she is finally able to see the rich life her son might have led.

That's right theatre fans. One of Broadway's most acclaimed stars is set to return to the Great White Way next year. Yes I know. She's a big television star too. Tyne Daly, a Tony and Emmy winner for her work in Gypsy and Cagney and Lacey is set to star in Mother's and Son's. The show which is written by four-time Tony Award winner Terrence McNally (Master Class, Ragtime) is set to begin previews at the John Golden Theatre on February 23, 2104 with opening night scheduled for March 24, 2014.
