44 Southwest - (Italian) (621 9th Ave SW corner of 44th & 9th Ave 212-315-4582) Very good Italian dishes at great prices.

ANGUS MCINDOE - (258 W 44th St 212-221-9222) Lovely little theatre district joint. Very lively and incredibly friendly staff. Sure to see theatre folk hanging out after the show.

BABBO - (Italian) (110 Waverly Pl 212-777-0303) Exceptional food from popular Chef Mario Batali...Lovely ambience

BANN - (Korean Barbeque) (350 W 50th St 212-582-4446) Very stylish Zen-like restaurant. For something different try the barbeque, you cook your food right on your table, or order delicious Asia-fusion entrees from the menu. All food is very fresh and lots of unique flavors. Also a great place to drop in for cocktails.

BB KINGS - GOSPEL BRUNCH - (Southern) (237 West 42nd St 212-997-4144) So much fun!!! See the Harlem Gospel choir bring the house down in voice...AND feast on a bountiful southern smorgasbord all on 42nd Street.

BECCO - (Italian) (355 W 46th 212-397-7597) Wonderful Italian in the theatre district... Especially love prix fixe of 3 pastas of the day that they bring right to your plate from the steaming pan.

BLUE HILL RESTAURANT - (Farm to Table) (75 Washington Pl  New York, NY 10011 212 539-1776) Not in the theater district.

BOURBON Street - (Cajun) (346 W 46th St bet 8th & 9th Aves 212-245-2030) This beautiful Cajun joint looks like something right out of Disney World. But don't be fooled, they have great big portions at really reasonable prices. Go for the Catfish Po' Boy...mmmm

Brasserie 8 ½ - (9 West 57th 212-829-0812) Great Sunday Brunch...Dinner menu offers creative French fare.

BRAZIL GRILL - (Brazilian & Portuguese) (787 Eighth Ave @ 48th St 212-307-9449) Perfect for before theatre or after. Great variety on menu, something for everyone. They even have a Churrascuria room available as well for an all you can eat buffet.

BOND 45 - (Italian)(154 w 45th st 212-869-4545) Good Italian fare set in a former Men's clothing store. Big open environment. Must have the deep fried baby artichokes...mmmm little pricey.

BUBBA GUMPS - (Seafood) (1501 Broadway 121-391-7100) Obviously commercial...BUT the seafood is good, affordable and service is great...Shrimp pot is a favorite. Fun for the whole family.

CITY CRAB & SEAFOOD - (Seafood) (235 Park @ 19th 212-529-3800) Great oysters. Terrific seafood at decent prices.

CHURRASCARIA - (Brazilian) (316 West 49th St 212-245-0505) A food orgy. From amazing salad bar to rotating meats (about 23 different kinds to choose from) all you can eat.

DALLAS BBQ - (Barbeque) (241 West 42nd Street 212-221-9000) The best Value in Town...If you want to eat big at a great price....Yummy Beef Ribs and Baby Backs

DELTA GRILL - (Southern/Cajun) ( 700 Ninth Ave 212-956-0934) Great southern classics in NYC. Fun Authentic New Orleans atmosphere. Also good for brunch.

E AND E GRILL HOUSE - (233 West 49th Street 212-505-9909) Located inside the ground floor of The Pearl Boutique Hotel in the heart of Times Square E and E Grill is one of New York's best kept secrets.

ETCETERA ETCETERA - (Continental) (352 West 44th St 212-399-4141) Ultra chic little bistro with an imaginative menu. Great food, great prices.

FIVE NAPKIN BURGER - (Burgers) (630 9th Ave bet 44th & 45th st 212-757-2277) Good burgers in a cool atmosphere.

GALLO NERO - (Italian Wine Bar) (420 W 44th St between 9th & 10th 212-265-6660) Warm rustic little wine bistro. Delicious Italian, love the crostini's and they have an amazing wine list.

GALLAGHER'S (Steak house) (228 West 52nd St between Bway & 8th 212-245-5336) Classic New York Steakhouse...feels like the staff are the originals. Great cuts of beef, cooked to perfection and a wonderful bar.

HELL'S KITCHEN - (Mexican) (679 Ninth Ave between 46th & 47th Sts 212-977-1588) Unique dishes with a flair for Mexican fusion, great cocktails and all in a bustling hip atmosphere. Better make a reservation.

HOURGLASS TAVERN - (356 W 46th St 212-265-2060) A cozy little neighborhood restaurant on Restaurant Row. New owners with a zest for perking things up but continuing to offer the same kind of down home hearty meal. Great for a bite pre-theatre or post-theatre.

HUDSON CAFETERIA - (American) (Hudson Hotel 356 W 58th St between 8th & 9th Aves 212-554-6000) Don't be fooled by the name cafeteria...This place is lovely and set in the beautiful Hudson Hotel. With a unique spin on cafeteria... comfort food, and communal tables all set in a richly unique atmosphere.

JOHN'S PIZZARIA - (Italian/Pizza) (260 West 44th 212-391-7560) Great Place in theatre district for pizza after theatre. Cavernous, in an old church.

JUNIOR'S - (Delicatessen) (Shubert Alley 45th 212-302-2000) A Brooklyn classic. For reasonably priced delicious deli food in the theatre district that is clean and has a friendly staff. YOU MUST at least go for cheesecake.

KODAMA - (Japanese/Sushi) (301 West 45th 212-582-8065) Great Sushi, reasonable prices, right in the theatre district...Great for before or after theatre.

LA MELA (Italian) (Little Italy 167 Mulberry St 212-431-9493)...My favorite in Little Italy... Family style fun without the menu.

LATTANZI - (Mediterranean)(361 West 46th 212-315-0980) Charming Mediterranean... pricey but well worth it impeccable service and amazing food.

MARIA PIA - (Italian) (319 West 51st 212-765-6463) Quaint little Bistro in the theatre district. Wonderful pastas. Beautiful garden in the summer.

MARSEILLE - (French/Mediterranean) (630 Ninth Ave 212-333-3410) French Mediterranean, delicious food... bit pricey, nice atmosphere

MESON SEVILLA - (Spanish) (344 West 46th St 212-262-5890) Terrific tapas, Delicious Sangria and Fabulous Paella. Also surprisingly affordable prices.

ORZO - (Continental) (322 W 46th St 212-489-7212) Upscale pub, food is always good and you never know who you might see.

PATSY'S - (Italian) (236 West 56th St between Bway & 8TH 212-247-3491) One of NYC's classic Italian haunts. From Sinatra to the Soprano's this joint has been a favorite for years.

PATSY'S PIZZARIA - (Pizza) (61 West 74th St between Columbus Ave and Central Park West 212-579-3000) (206 E 60th St bet 2nd & 3rd Aves 212-688-9797) Perfect brick oven pizzas.

PIETRASANTA - (Italian) (683 Ninth Ave 212-265-9471) Great Italian in a simple setting, one of the best values around.

QUALITY MEATS - (Steakhouse) (57 West 58th Street 212- 371-7777) Awesome atmosphere, not typical.

ROC - (Italian) (190 A Duane St@ Greenwich St 212-625-3333) Ultra chic Italian, in trendy Tribeca. Spectacular food!

ROCK CENTER CAFÉ - ( 20 West 50th Rockefeller Center 212-332-7620) Good food, but mostly for the ringside view of the center skating rink.

ROSA MEXICANO - (Mexican) (61 Columbus Ave 212-977-7700) A busy happening joint with terrific Mexican fare. Great margaritas and the best guacamole.

RUBY FOO'S - (Asian/Fusion) (1626 Broadway @ 49th 212-489-5600) Pan Asian cuisine. A unique atmosphere. Interesting food and some of the best sushi around.

SOSA BORELLO - (Argentinean/Italian) (832 8th Ave @ 50th St 212-262-7774) Argentinean/Italian chic bistro with delicious food and reasonable prices.

SPICE MARKET - (403 West 13th Street @ 9th Ave 212-675-2322) This might just be my most favorite restaurant ever. From the décor to the Asian influenced food this is an event as theatrical as any Broadway show. Your senses will be delighted! Try the Chefs tasting menu...a great value and sensational array of dishes and flavors.

SWIZZ - (Swiss/Italian/French) (310 West 53rd St bet 8th & 9th Ave 212-810-4444) Lovely little restaurant that specializes in Swiss classics like fondue and raclette cheese. Swiss dishes infused with a bit of American/Italian and French. You must have the chocolate fondue dessert...( made with Toblerone) mmmm.

TABOON - (Mediterranean-Middle Eastern) (773 10th Ave @ 52nd Street 212-713-0271)
I love this place! Just the fresh from the oven (and I mean HOT) bread alone is worth making the trip here. But everything from steaks to fresh fish and of course my favorite braised short ribs are always exceptional.

THALIA - (American) (9828 Eighth Ave @ 50th Street 212-399-4444) great pre theatre spot and terrific for Sunday brunch. Comfortable atmosphere with prices that appeal to all.

THE PALM - (Steak & Seafood) (250 West 50th St 212-333-3044) Very comfortable atmosphere and friendly staff. Amazing seafood as well as their famous cuts of meat. Also reasonably priced for a NY steakhouse.

TOLOACHE - (Mexican) (251 W 50th St (between Bway and 8th) 212-581-1818)
Love this New Twist on Mexican...great guacamoles, tequilas and such a friendly staff.

TONY DI NAPOLI - (Italian) (147 WEST 43rd St 212-221-0100) Like Carmine's...Big Family Style dishes...I like the food much better than Carmine's.

UNCLE JACK'S - (Steakhouse) (440 Ninth Ave 34th & 35th 212-244-0005) My favorite steakhouse in NY. NOT CHEAP, but service and food are always impeccable. Love the rich ornate decor as well.

UNCLE NICK'S - (Greek) (747 Ninth Ave 212-245-7992) Great Whole fish, terrific tapas and you must have the flaming cheese.

VICTOR'S CAFÉ - (Cuban)(236 West 52nd st 212-586-7714) Cuban fare, little pricey but a great change of pace food.

WORLD YACHT DINING CRUISE - (Call APPLAUSE to book 212-307-7050) Pier 81 West 41st Street @ The Hudson River. Elegant dining cruise around Manhattan. Dinner and dancing, or a perfect Sunday afternoon brunch. Delicious food and of course the most spectacular views of the city.

ZENGO RESTAURANT - (Latin Asian) (622 Third Ave at 40th Street   212-808-8110)
