Roald Dahl’s much-loved classic is brought to life in this world premiere stage production.

The mysterious Willy Wonka is opening his Chocolate Factory for just one day, and for Charlie Bucket it promises to be a mouth-watering chance to feast his eyes on sweets beyond his wildest imagination.

I can't tell you how excited I am for this one. Not only is the book one of my favorite's but Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is one of my favorite films of all time. I won't even get into the Johnny Depp version. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is set to begin previews on May 18 at the Drury Lane Theatre. Playing the misunderstood but loved Willy Wonka is Tony and Olivier Award winner Douglas Hodge (La Cage Aux Folles). With a score by Tony and Grammy winners Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittam and direction by Academy Award winning director Sam Mendes (American Beauty) I expect Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to be a big fat hit. Now for those of you who need tickets to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory you are in luck.
